We've had two graduate with no debt.
We plan on the daughter doing the same.
We've told them they are getting their inheritance up front.

Start saving now - anything is better than nothing.
YWIA!

Even if you get a $20k/yr scolly, it's not much help if the school costs $40k/yr. OW!!!

And OU is not so cheap for out-of-staters.

That is all.

I can say this, when I looked at costs, even without factoring scholarships

it was cheaper to pay out of state at OU then in state for CU

Is OU still doing the Generations Scholarship? Don't know exactly how it works or even if you would be eligible but when I was at OU, if one of your parents graduated from OU and you lived out of state the scholarship covered the difference and you got to only pay in state tuition.

Word. The apts are so much cheaper there than what you have to pay here, it pretty much evens out.

I get a kick out of when public school kids start bitching about their tuition.
God, mine is 12k a semester and with fees added in and everything else it's about 25,000 a year. That's over 100k and I'm taking at least 6 years to graduate.

TU, are you sending your kid to a 40k a year school? Where?

I find it funny when people that choose to go to a private college complain about how much higher their tuition is than at a state school. ;)

My parents are doing the same thing. My sister is a SR in high school (I won't provide pics :O ) and has a decision. She likes northeastern OK, and will either go to TCC for free for at least 1 year, or take a small $400/semester scholarship and join a few of her friends at NSU.

I will probably get a loan next year, but mostly so I can invest/gamble it.

thank FSM for athletic scholarships. (and the less stringent scholly limits at non-NCAA schools)

Was for me. :)

I ended up paying a grand total of $330 to the University for my degree.
