View Full Version : Firefox update ate my bookmarks again
This time, Pat's suggestion to search for bookmarks.html didn't work. I did manage to recover (with a recovery program) a deleted bookmarks file, it says it's 144kb, but I can't get it to open anything more than a blank page. Crap. Maybe someday I'll learn to back those up.....somehow.
FYI: Here it is if anyone else has this problem:

Thanks, I've been having this problem. I can't save new bookmarks without jumping through hoops either. You'd think Mozilla would address this on their site.
I'm glad someone (besides me) got something from this thread. :)

I haven't lost bookmarks, but I do have a problem saving them.
When I save one, it saves a blank where the site name should be. I have to go into the properties and rename it what it should have been saved as.
Gets a little annoying.

you can export your bookmarks to a file, if they are that important
go to "Organize Bookmarks" and then go to File->Export
or you can use that http://del.icio.us/ site so you can get to them from anywhere. i haven't tried that page yet, but i've meant to

I've never had problems with losing my bookmarks, but since the last update I did notice that sometimes firefox will sit there not doing anything but using 100% of my processor. I don't recall that ever happening before.

Are you using 2.0.0.3?

I think so. I think it updated about a week ago or something. I haven't had the problem here at work - just at home. While it was "freaking out", I oculdn't connect to any sites. Then i restarted it and everything worked fine.
