Actually it was on the 24th but I just realized we'd hit the milestone.
I got my first player in Jan. 1999. It was a Toshiba SD-2008 ($279 on sale). My first DVDs were Top Gun, Wizard of Oz, Air Force One, Liar Liar and (I think) The Saint. I remember the 2 reasons I took so long to buy one was because of the lack of good movies that I'd be interested in buying (again) and the fact that I hated letterboxed movies. Now I won't watch movies any other way - even on a 4:3 TV.
