Yes, those shots have been there the whole time. Also, as someone said earlier, don't pick up the dribble and hold the ball. Take the shot or fire the pass off the dribble.

Unfortunately there is a formula to beating this team. You just have to have the right personel. Crud. We need just one or perhaps two more pure athletes on this team. They don't have to be very good basketball players, they just need to be able stretch out an opponents defense.

Yeah, we'll have more athleticism next year. I love the potential starting lineup of Paris x 2, Thompson, Stevenson and Plumley.

Try calling a timeout once in a while to try and slow down a run by the opposition. Sometimes it's OK to take your young players aside and give them a chance to collect themselves or run a set play so they don't dribble into traps or pass directly to the opposing team. You can also subsitute players frequently in basketball. It's also OK to switch defenses once in a while to protect your slower players - heard of a triangle and two? Look into it Sherri, you might find it useful in the future.

Never thought I'd do this, but I thought Sherri blew it from a coaching perspective. It's your job to put the players in a position to succeed and not let the opposing team run all over them.

As far as the players, it's tough to win when you commit 20+ turnovers and send the opposing team to the line 40+ times in one game.

I'm surprised it was as close as it was.

I agree, although we do have some fast and athletic players. but this is a half-court team that let Ole Miss dictate tempo.

There's many things you can do on both offense and defense to slow the game down.

As a coach, you can try to manipulate the tempo from the sidelines by calling timeouts when the opposing team starts to make a run. It also gives your players a chance to settle down and refocus.

Give credit to Ole Miss, but OU got out-coached and out-played today.
