Wienerdogs on decline!

NPR reported this morning that German dachsund breeders are lamenting declining demand for wienerdogs.

My cousin just got a long haired one who wasn't up to show standard, so the breeder just gave him to her. She named him Ozzy Osbourne.

She also found out that she gets Ozzy's brother, so I told her to name him Axl Rose.

Given they were initially bred to go into badger holes and drag the toothy and mean little bastages out so the badgers could be shot by gun-toting farmers, that's not surprising.;)

I've owned three wienerdogs, and had family/friends that have owned others.

They're all psychotic.

I have a mini-daschund and it, or a regular size daschund is the only kind of inside dog I would own.
