sucks.

Well it did tonight - my first night. Have to do this for two weeks.
I was tired at about 10:00, but now that I'm home, I'm not tired. Guess I'll have a beer.

the thing I hate is that once I get used to this (probably next week), I'll have to go back to starting work at 7:00am.

(Hoo! Ah!)
(Hoo! Ah!)
(Hoo! Ah!)
(Hoo! Ah!)

(Well, don't you know)
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang...
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

All day long they're singin'
(Hoo! Ah!)
(Hoo! Ah!)
(Hoo! Ah!)
(Hoo! Ah!)

(Well, don't you know)
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang...
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

All day long they work so hard
Till the sun is goin' down
Working on the highways and byways
And wearing, wearing a frown
You hear them moanin' their lives away
Then you hear somebody say...

That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang...
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

Can't ya hear them singin'
Mmm, I'm goin' home one of these days
I'm goin' home see my woman
Whom I love so dear
But meanwhile I got to work right here...

(Well, don't you know)
That's the sound of the men working on the chain ga-a-ang
That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang

All day long they're singin', mmm
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my work is so hard
Give me water, I'm thirsty
My work is so hard

Yep...I'm a Defenestration guy from way back in the day.

The ultimate lurker around here I suppose. I do most of my posting on an alt-country board...but I'll try harder. :)

Rotating shiftwork is a grind. Believe me...going on 19 years of it.

Nothing like getting off work at 8 am on a Saturday in the fall...3 hours of sleep...then up for the 11 am kickoff.

Luckily I only have to work this 2-week stint, then I don't have to work night shift again till sometime next year.

On the upside, I just crawled out of bed and am having coffee and watching The Price is Right.
