It's probably like a bad SNL sketch over there about now.

Or, possibly, CSI. Hopefully it's more like SNL.

Heh, back in the day I was a framer. We tied back the safety features so we could go faster. I had a really bad day, stepped on a nail, shot myself 3 different times with the nail gun. Later that day I almost took off the end of my thumb with a corrugated framing hammer, twisted my back running trusses along the top plate with a rookie. I told the boss, I was done for the day and went home. Hurt in so many places I couldn’t count them all.

Working construction for my dad, my older brother used to shoot nails at me with the framing gun. He was 20 feet away or so, but it still hurt if a nail hit ya.

I delivered lumber when I was in school. I was delivering to a father/son team working on a trim job in Edmond, talking to the father, when we heard a yell from another part of the house. The son shot himself in the thumb knuckle.
I had to hold his hand while his dad grabbed it with a pair of channel locks and pulled it out.

let me guess - the old man told him to rub some dirt on it and get back to work.

by the way, this is what it looks like when you shoot a 16 penny nail in your forearm:

anyone remember a few years back when the construction worker had a nail in his jaw for several weeks before he went to the dentist with a tooth ache. people are dumb

my trig teacher in high school came to class one monday with a huge wrap on his left thumb and a picture in the right hand. he shot a similar 16p nail into his thumb. was stick out both sides. very little blood suprisingly

The shed is almost done. I've got ... shingles and trim to go. And I have to finish the door. I tarpapered tonight just in case it rains some more.

No incidents thus far. I thought there would be while I was on the roof. I guess there is still hope, because I'm shingling tomorrow. Since it would take the average human about 2 hours to finish the whole roof, I imagine I'll be done sometime in the next 4 months.
