This may or may not be an awesome deal but I just picked up a 2 gigabyte SD memory thing from Best Buy for 29.99.

Just thought I'd pass this on in case someone was needing some more SD memory.

The price of flash has been in absolute freefall. Both SD and CF can be had at ridiculous prices anymore.

A little different than what 1TC was talking about, and probably more expensive

Anyway, I'm guessing it's DDR memory, but I'd ask your friend first.

SD is normally used by digital camera's and other portable devices

The price of flash memory is coming down rapidly, but be careful... a lot of these ridiculous specials are on very slow cards, which can affect the performance of your camera in some cases, and slow down transferring files to your computer in all cases.

that's why you should buy reputable brands of memory. But also many camera's won't notice the memory speed because frankly, they are slower and won't use the higher speed of memory.

oh, and if anyone wants to know, SanDisk is the best brand to use for SD or CF memory

Write speed is always a ton slower than read. Even a slow card will probably read quickly enough.

And for most people buying SD (which is used mostly in point and shoot digicams with a few exceptions), I'm with boomer, most will be fast enough.

Sandisk is what I use too.

I'm getting ready to order a couple 2 gb ultra II cards from newegg. I'm waiting to see if they get the canon tx1 in stock before I order though

Oh, and one other thing you may already know... buying flash memory from eBay is a real gamble. It's been flooded with counterfeits - particularly CF, but also SD. If the price looks too good to be true, it probably is.
