Yup. Go to www.finalemusic.com. Their free version is called Finale Notepad. I believe it includes all the functions of the real things, but limits how many lines you have.

I found this one. TEFview TablEdit File Viewer 2.60 http://www.tabledit.com/tefview/

Could somebody that knows this crap let me know if it looks like a good program?

looks like you have to register at the site to download anything.

Yeah, you do, they might send you an email to upgrade once in a while but thats it.

As far as writing music, Finale is pretty much the big one. Sibelius is ok, but I don't think they have a cut-down freebie version.
