You guys can lay it on all you want. This team deserves it. Also, want to know something funny? Sutton benched Boggan and Monds for most of the last half. That was how we made the run. I'll be happy when those guys are out of here. No leadership whatsoever. We'll see what happens in the future, but I'll bet my car that this isn't Sutton's fault. It's the players. I just hope that the problematic one's are the one's with the door knob print on their hind quarters.

Next year:

Good Luck OU. Hope you can compete for the tourney.

OSU, I don't think even Coach Sutton knows. I just hope that tonights effort didn't totally alienate Jai from consideration. Thank God for the early signing period or Boggan and Monds might have really cost us.

That is an understatements. The upper deck was absolutely barren while a good percentage of the high-priced seats behind the benches and press row were noticably bare. The TV color guy could not get off of the fact that the pukes were doggin it the entire game. Expect the aggie crybaby PR machine to start sending out hate mail soon to ESPN-U like they did after the Big 12 tourney.

Gettys is a Houston guy (Phi Slamma Jamma) and he hates the Big 8 teams. He'll take any opportunity to dog any of them. However, it's not that difficult to slam OSU's effort.

The Marist game is a perfect example of why you should never play in the NIT when you're a respectable program. It does nothing positive for you, and if you have a team that couldn't care less about playing, you'll get beat by the likes of Marist. OSU has now lost 3 out of its last 140 non-con home games. The 3 losses are to Florida Atlantic, Northwestern State and Marist.

Bzzzz, wrong. That's all we CAN schedule. You don't think they try to get the big dogs to come to GIA? Why do you think we have so many tough NC road games? Our NC schedule is never easy, but I think they biggest non-con I've ever seen at GIA is Washington State, and we won that game something like 75-35 (not exagerating). Big teams just don't come to GIA. The best we can do is the Ford center.

No big team wants to go to Gallagher-Iba because of how intense it can get there. It's no Allen Fieldhouse but the same concept is there. It is a nice arena and the fans are just as intense as their bright orange shirts. GIA before the expansion was just as intense and awesome. Big ooc teams fear going to GIA because of the tradition it has and the spirit of Iba that surrounds it. I wish OU had an arena like GIA. Hell, all we have is a damn concert hall, or at least that is what it used to be used for.

Big 12 basketball analyst Reid Gettys interviewed by Tramel Saturday

By Berry Tramel
The Oklahoman

How did Jeff Capel do in his first Oklahoma season?

“I love Jeff Capel. I’ll confess, when they made that hire, my eyebrows went up. ‘Uhhhhh. That’s interesting.’ But I spent some time with him in Norman, I love Jeff Capel. I would love to play for Jeff Capel. I would send my son to play for Jeff Capel. Last night, the game was slipping away. Somebody made a play and he jumped up and applauded it. Slapped the guy on the butt as he was going down court.. It was one of those plays he could have let go. It meant nothing. It was of no consequence. Yet what that did, and the statement that made, not only to that kid but to the guys sitting on the bench ... I love Jeff Capel.”

BS. I was in GIA last summer. From the floor level it looks EXACTLY like Norman Highs gym, but with folding bleachers added below the 20 foot wall and the upper half extended upward. I don't give a **** what some network TV mouthpiece says, I've been there and I've seen plenty of empty seats in that dump when things aren't going well. Just because during big games a bunch of students try and dress up like Duke fans, doesn't make OSU Duke.

Yes....and the LNC was heralded as the toughest place in the nation by Dick Vitale and others after OU swept #1 Kansas and #1 Missouri in one week back in 1990. We also had a record home winning streak against nonconference foes during that era.

What determines the toughness of an arena is win-loss records. An eye-popping home record can come from being dominant (see OU in the 80's and early 90's) or from scheduling nothing but patsies at home.
