if none of them were Piper at the Gates of Dawn, you are wasting yer money.
who cares? all this nationality-first stuff is the stuff of meatheads who talk out both side of their mouth about globalization.

Nothing Pink Floyd is a waste of money. I would also suggest Roger Waters' "Pros and cons of hitchhiking".

Edit: Except for my signed copy of Chasing Amy.
And I like Phil Collins and Huey Lewis, damn it. Watch it or I'll go Patrick Bateman on you.

I wish that I could point out that thread where I predict that both types of HD dvd are going to be rendered obsolete in teh near future.

That's nice. Have fun feeling smug while I experience 1080p picture and uncompressed PCM sound. :D

I'd seriously like to do a side by side for most rubes to see if they can pick which one is HD dvd or BR or SD.

I think you'd be surprised on a properly-calibrated TV. There is a MAJOR difference between BD/HD DVD and regular DVD to my eyes, and there is to anyone who's watched my setup. I mean, not even close. Obviously, there's little to no difference in PQ between BD and HD DVD on the same movies-they use the same encodes.
