Reagan started clamping down on the traffic and after more airliners exploded Bush put the hammer down.

He even had a legal memorandum prepared, interpreting the prohibition to mean that the president could, at his discretion, order the assassination of foreign citizens if he felt that they were a threat to national security or to American citizens.

Delta Force was sent to Medellin to help the locals and the CIA. Good stuff.

Sounds like the inspiration for Tom Clancy's novel Clear And Present Danger.

I saw the show on the History Channel by the same moniker. At first I thought it strange that you would happily stand around the corpse of a man and smile for the camera, at hearing about what that guy did, I would smile and snap a picture too. Seriously scary stuff, and the best argument against drug use I have ever seen.

he was considered a hero to many of the poor and street folk (poor nation to begin with) because he built housing in the barrio, built soccer fields and gave out money. It was interesting to see the replies on Youtube, some folks still love the guy. Some said he was a dog and died like one.

He only killed thousands, kids and civillians in bombings, executed police, judges, government officials.

he burned two of his business partners alive. also once tied up a waiter accused of stealing at his mountain top estate Hacienda Napoles, and threw him into the swimming pool to drown, during a party.

great guy.

I heard Vincent Chase was set to play him in the movie adaptation. No word on why that fell through.
