I swear my head (or my hats?) changes sizes with the seasons so I've given up on fitted caps. Ballcap with a velcro adjustable closure, no metal clasps or buckles for me.

I always wore a platic pith helmet like that when I carried the mail. It was great protection form the sun and the rain.
