The boys beat Tony Gwynn's San Diego State Aztecs tonight 4-1 to improve to 12-4 on the year and currently have a 10 game winning streak. The offense tonight was ok but the pitching was superb again only allowing 1 run(unearned) on 4 hits. Things are looking pretty good for the sooners.

Just to be a little more complete, the starter tonight was stephen porlier and he went 6 innings and gave up 1 unearned run. Nich Conaway got the 3 inning save and gave up no runs. The Sooners continue tomorrow at 5pm at Petco Park(home of the San Diego Padres) with San Diego and then Sunday at 12pm with Michigan at Tony Gywnn Stadium. Both San Diego and Michigan went to the tournament last year and San Diego is currently ranked 22nd by Baseball America. San Diego also took 2 of 3 from UT earlier this year. Big weekend remaining for the Sooners who are already 3-0 for the week.

Very nice. I still don't understand why people didn't want Galloway. I mean he created OCU from crap.

The Baseball polls are absolutely crazy. Last week the coaches poll had the Sooners at 27th and after going undefeated they moved all the way down to 42nd.

Hopefully the Sooners can escape San Diego with their win streak in tact. Right now OU is showing up at #19 on the RPI and San Diego (the next opponent) is at #13. With a win over them and Michigan on Sunday the Sooners would most likely move into the top 25 and top 15 in RPI.

I like Galloways fire and also the way we have beat Stephenson and Wussy St. with Sunny calling the shots.I'm still a little bitter, can you tell? The sad thing is IT should have been Sunny from the get go,GS should not have even entered the picture.Yeqah I know he was Enos' right hand man in the Semore glory days but still I think we all know or at least believe (strongly in my case)that Sunny came to OU to be Cochell's handpicked sucessor. As for Gene be a man and show some backbone. To take the job and then give it back was totally classless.OK I'm done venting. On to abigger,Sunnier future with Golloway.Boomer Sooner.

BTW where is AustinTxHorn? He has always done excellent weekly Big 12 baseball updates.

He is definately proving how GREAT(not good) he is as a coach!! This was supposed to be a down year and I think we are 5-1 against ranked teams so far!!! If we can somehow get Blake Beaven in here next year rather than going pro(doubt it) our pitching staff will be unreal

With the current schedule...

Mar 11, 2007 RPI 49 vs Michigan (http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2007/schedule/Michigan)5 - 3
Mar 13, 2007 RPI 125 Texas-Pan American (http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2007/schedule/Texas-Pan%20American)9 - 14
Mar 14, 2007 RPI 125 Texas-Pan American (http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2007/schedule/Texas-Pan%20American)9 - 14
Mar 16, 2007 RPI 71 Michigan State (http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2007/schedule/Michigan%20State)4 - 5
Mar 17, 2007 RPI 71 Michigan State (http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2007/schedule/Michigan%20State)4 - 5
Mar 18, 2007 RPI 71 Michigan State (http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2007/schedule/Michigan%20State)4 - 5
Mar 20, 2007 RPI 91 @ Dallas Baptist (http://www.warrennolan.com/baseball/2007/schedule/Dallas%20Baptist)9 - 7 at Frisco, TX

The Sooners could very easily go on an 18 game win streak before hosting aTm for a three game series to begin Big XII play.

The next seven games are mostly at home (excepting vs Michigan in San Diego and at Dallas Baptist) all playing opponents with at or below .500 records and lesser talent. If that were to happen, OU would be 20-4 going into league play and riding high with all the confidence needed to give the top teams in the conference some serious competition.

Aaron Baker continued his hitting streak Saturday night and has now had at least one hit in each of the Sooners 17 games in this his freshman season.

BOOMER!

Really exciting to see the Sooners off to a strong start. Michigan is not a bad loss. Hope to make it to a game soon.
