from experience, First of all go to the Dr. and take some ibuprofen.
Second take a heating pad on low, place a towel over it, and place your infected ear on it. The heat will help soothe the pain and it will also draw some of that gunky infection stuff out. It's not pretty, but it does work.

My son has ear infections all the time, and every time I do this it helps him immensely.
