That series has got to be one of the most amazing things ever televised. mrs Homey and I sat in rapt attention most of yesterday evening watching it in HD glory. Fantastic!

They were able to capture animal behavior never before seen, mainly because they developed an airborne camera stabilization system that allowed them to film animals from an altitude that did not disturb or distract their subjects.

That snow leopard was amazing. I didn't realize they kept their young with them until they were 2 years old.

It was really cool to see how different species work together to find food.

Does this show cover different topics each week? Animals one week, geology/meteorology the next, maybe a show on plant life? I missed the first episode. Didnt get much info from the link.

I just like the variety. They mix it up with satellite shots, helicopter shots with that awesome new camera, and surface shots. A nice mix.

It may have pretty pictures and stuff, but as soon as they say the word "evolution" I am turning it back to FoxNews.

Speaking of evolution, do you find "No Child Left Behind" is sorta inconsistent with the notion of Darwinian natural selection? I do, but sometimes I think about stuff too hard.

No.

A segment of it has made the round on other shows like Oprah, but it hasn't been aired yet.

They did show part of it at the end of one of those three episodes when they show some of the "how we did this" stuff. That was when they were talking about the cool infrared cameras.

I think of all the episodes I've seen, the one on Fresh Water was the most interesting. I was also surprised to see the segment on another episode about the high plateau baboons that were (the only?)completely vegeterian primates, and lived on grasses only.
