I heard on the radio yesterday (Lou Dobbs, CNN) that Oklahoma is one of
a few states that has legislation in the works to stop services for illegals,
as well as crack down on the employers of them.

Oklahoma set a precedent by forcing drug stores to put sudafed behind the counter, and I hope they set another one here.

I'm all for it. If they need a petition, I'll sign that too.

Amen. I have no idea why illegals are even allowed to be here.

Amen.

And hopefully, they get rid of the friggin income tax ASAP, and let me buy my likker at homeland and albertsons.

Get those two things done, and they can have the rest of the year off. My treat.

How are we going to fund state services then, a huge property tax increase like they do it in Texas?

In other news lawn maintenance companies, roofing companies, construction companies, McDonalds, and Taco Bell are all in desperate need for workers.

Walmart discontinues plastic spinner hubcaps due to lack of buyers.

Natural Light tallboys and cheap tequila brands also take a huge drop in
sales.

Ahh I'm just kiddin. I know it's not good to stereotype, but seriously... :D

It's funny that this got posted today. I just saw a cop on the side of the road with a bunch of Mexicans. Looked as though he was checking their immigration status. :D

Well, they could start off by cutting some of the massive fat we have in our state gubment.

Then maybe upping property and sales taxes.

Anything is better than punishing working people in this state. Its one of the biggest factors we have in not landing more companies looking to re-locate now.

Tax consumption, not earnings.

I don't know, man. But life would sure be more convenient for me if I could buy alcohol, tobacco, and firearms, all at one drive-thru quick stop. Hell, it help save the planet 'cuz I wouldn't have to drive around everywhere getting my stuff.

Certainly what the world needs is more drunk truckers toting firearms and throwing lit cigarettes out the window. :D

It may be because other state legislatures have done their homework. It's just possible that an Oklahoma law that operates to deny illegals essential services could be struck down. For example, the courts have held withholding state funds for the education of illegal alien children violates equal protection. A state statute requiring higher tuition for illegal aliens has been upheld, but a proposition seeking to prevent illegal aliens from receiving benefits or public services in a state, has been struck down, as has an attempt by a state (texass BTW) to require the United States to pay for illegal aliens expenses incurred by the state.

If the folks in OKC pull it off, and it survives the inevitable Constitutional challenge, that'll be some feat.

I love this country, but it can be a hella frustrating place to live.

Whenever I pay my taxes I just imagine my friends in the military and think, "Jack, all of YOUR tax dollars pay for Grant and Robert and Kaylen's salaries. And you like them and they won't waste any of it."
