I agree with Lula, importing Brazilian ethanol is a better idea for the United States than subsidising our own grossly inefficent corn ethanol industry. The United States can absorb soybean acres displaced by sugarcane in Brazil which would help American Farmers in a more sensible manner than our current policies.
In addition the American Corn Ethanol industry is rapidly approaching the point where it will be swimming in red ink because of the gov't encouraged overproduction will vastly outstrip the market for it. That will be ugly.
