for me to expect my trainee to stay awake during our shift?

He's on his third nap tonight. I just let him sleep. I've been running him pretty ragged trying to cram a lot of info into his skull the last few days and tonight I told him to just take it easy and watch what I'm doing . Apparently the boredom of watching me play on the internets overtook him. I thought being as the lead hand couldn't teach him anything that maybe he could retain some of it working with me. He wasn't retaining anything so I'm trying a low stress, little at a time strategy. It doesn't seem to be working either.

He has things that he needs to be getting done. One is passing a test on CD so he can get into our MWD operations course. You gotta pass both to get promoted from trainee to numbskull or whatever I am. He's gotta be able to take surveys and make logs which he hasn't even come close to mastering.

My wife has a trainee shadowing her right now. She told them no, I really don't want a trainee, but they gave her to her anyway. She said she is slow as snot and is driving her wicked crazy. So, I feel yer pain 1stTime, or at least my misses does. ;) good luck!
