SETTING THE STAGE: Oklahoma plays Ohio in a consolation game at the ACHA D1 National Championship Tournament…The winner of this game will finish the season ranked 9th in the ACHA D1 while the loser will finish ranked 10th…Today’s game will be the first meeting between the two teams…Oklahoma lost 2-1 to Delaware yesterday…Ohio lost to Michigan-Dearborn 3-2 in overtime yesterday…In other Nationals action, Rhode Island beat West Virginia 5-3, Oakland came back to beat Lindenwood 5-4, Illinois beat Washington & Jefferson 5-0, Penn State squeaked past Robert Morris (PA) 2-1 in overtime, Liberty blew out Kent State 9-1 and West Chester upset Iowa State 6-3.

OKLAHOMA NOTES: Today’s contest against Ohio, a perennial ACHA D1 superpower, will be a test of the Sooners’ testicular fortitude…Oklahoma’s lone goal against Delaware was scored by Kevin Kennedy…Defensemen Greg Curtiss and Robert Hetrick assisted on Kennedy’s goal…Oklahoma goaltender Aaron Schmeilski stopped 28 of Delaware’s 30 shots on goal…Goaltender Ryan Anderson is expected to start in goal today for OU…Anderson has a record of 7-1-0 with a 2.21 GAA and a .901 save percentage…The Oklahoma power play was 1 for 5 yesterday against Delaware…The Sooners are now 4-1-0 all-time when playing games at a neutral site.

OHIO NOTES: The Bobcats play in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League…Before coming to Nationals, Ohio swept West Virginia by scores of 7-2 and 6-0…The Bobcats are led in scoring by Dave Fitzgerald who has 20 goals and 35 assists for a total of 55 points…Fitzgerald is followed by Brandon Hanley (19-34-53), Jim Fuhs (20-31-51), Jeff Jepson (11-30-41) and John Yasak (11-28-39)…Jepson has been ruled ineligible due to academic issues and will not be available to play for Ohio today…Goaltenders Ryan Baksh (2.41 GAA) and Chris Carlson (1.88 GAA) have been the Bobcats’ main goaltenders this season.
