good luck getting that poison off your computer ;)

i've removed viruses that were easier to deal with than Norton

i wouldn't suggest it to anyone, really

If you can't get Norton off the computer, I think there was a program that would do it for you. I googled it once. It was a little harder to get rid of than it should have been. Kinda like that skank you mentioned. :D

Here's a difficult way to do it.

I'd let yermom look it over before I messed with any of what this guy says. Then I probably still wouldn't do it.

He mentions the Norton removal program. I think that's what I did after deleting each program manually from "Add/Delete Programs".

i'd just leave it there, unless you are having problems (you just pay for it once, or what?)

those instructions are basically what i have done in the past, but i don't generally advise people to edit the registry, so i'd be careful

with things like AVG free for personal use, i would not continue to buy things like Norton the next time

you don't have to any more, but before I would buy the multiple user license so that covered my computer along with my parents and sister

now you get 3 user per package, without having to go multiple user

Now I have a ? about mine . Should I install AVG now or wait till my Norton crap expires ?

yermom
2/22/2007, 02:28 PM
i would not install both of them at the same time

one of the links on there is antivirus, the other cleans spyware, the spyware one is probably fine to run with other stuff

AVG free is good. i also use a squared (free) which finds a lot of stuff.

majorgeeks.com usually has some good ratings of freeware (though you have to be careful of all the ads).
