There have been rumors Denver might send Jake Plummer, Tatum Bell and their first-round pick to Houston for the Texans No. 8 pick in the draft, in the hopes of drafting Adrian Peterson.

That just doesn't sound right. If they wanted him, they wouldn't trade their players for the eighth pick knowing that Peterson might have already been drafted. They would wait until after Houston drafted him and then trade.

this ain't 1999.

i hope not, i just can't get into the Donkeys living in Colorado for almost 15 years. i've tried, but it's more fun for me with my buddies when they lose. though, it's true Shanahan really liked Q. they cut him, but Shanny was on the table praising Quentin.

i'd also put more stock in reading the entrails of a slain beast than anything i read in either Denver paper about the Broncos. it's a shilfest.

Could happen...

Kubiak at Houston.

Houston about ready to dump/shop Carr.

Plummer was under Kubika had his best years.

Could happen.

Shanahan isn't particularily happy with bell either.

And no, it's not 1999, but the Broncos still have one of the most effective o-lines in the league.

If they do the trade up, it won't happen until draft day.

I seriously doubt that Peterson will still be available at number 8.

The donks could trade the other dudes to someone that has a higher pick than the ****stains, though.

The local NFL media guru indicated that the rumor of a Denver-Houston deal is baseless. I think the source for this was a bunch of Internet message board speculation.

Not many teams need a RB in the high part of this years draft.

Doesn't sound likely. Denver usually can come up with a good back without spending a high draft pick on one. Plus they'd be gambling on AD still being there, which he probably won't, and would be trading up for most likely their second choice at 8. Houston is about as inept at drafting as anyone and would probably draft a punter. Cleveland?

if Denver is going to trade up, they won't trade up until draft day

the other problem is Denver does have a very pressing need at CB now, so they may not trade and take Ross at 21

Again, the last time Denver used a first-round pick on an RB was in 1985.

Unless someone gets a quote from, say, the general manager, owner, or head coach of the Broncos, it seems a bit silly to think they'd go after AD.

I call BS he put up with TD and his injuries...I think Shany would be a great starting Coach for AD in the NFL.

Aren't 12 RB's enough? Plus I don't want the Chiefs to play him twice a year.

By making this rumor known, the Broncos have effectively sent out feelers for any team that drafts AD before number 8. Getting Plummer, Bell, and another top draft choice for AD may entice some team in the top seven choices to make AD their selection.

Yeah, and he worked out pretty well. Everyone talks about how the puke thurman thomas was the first hybrid back to be a pass catcher, Sewell was doing it first.

Denver's unfortunately, now short a RB. Ex-Mizzou standout Damien Nash collapsed & died today. Prayers to his family.

That's sad news indeed. Condolence's to his family. Bronc's having a tough off season.

too bad Q didn't play enough in Denver, but Shanahan would take another chance on a Sooner, especially AD. Shanahan knows all about the RB position at Oklahoma. Shanahan won a national title under Switzer in 1975.
