As a matter of fact, yes. Why wouldn't you. You get to see the best players in the country compete for bragging rights and money. In fact I love to watch it because people you would never expect to be in the first day work their way up with good combine results and overhyped players well work down.

I hope I get a chance to watch some of it this weekend. And I hope AD runs the fastest 40 out of all the RBs (heck out of all the players), that'd be sweet.

So did anyone watch any of this today? I watched some of the Tight End drills and Paul Thompson was in a QB rotation w/a couple other QBs and they were throwing the passes to the TE's. Vermiel commented on one of Pauls passes...simply said "nice throw there". I figure that's better than no comment at all. I'm looking forward to seeing what ENA and AD do tomorrow.

I watched the weigh ins last night and a little bit of the OL and TE drills today.

When AD weighed in last night, it sounded like the commentators had a man-crush on him. One guy said, "I have heard of people having a six-pack but this kid has a full case."

They cut to Mariucci and he basically said that AD is the top running back without question. It was all pretty positve.

Update: So Paul Thompson's QB group started to run their 40 yd dashes and they showed 3 of them run. Then they switched to the vertical jump drill to show Chris Leak jump. Earlier they wouldn't shut up about Leak. It seems like this may be a Leak love fest today. So I don't know if ENA ran yet or not.

They take the fastest of the two. The announcers keep saying that these are unofficial times. They will update the times if they change.

Snap your fingers.

You see how fast .02 seconds was?

Peterson set himself up to make plenty of money well before he got to the combines. He is just making it more apparent why he is the best RB to enter the league since Barry Sanders!

bixby28

Doesn't matter how quick .02 is. A 4.3 will help Peterson regardless of how much or little he has left to prove.

Good 40 yd dash times turn a lot of heads in the combine.

Here's a couple quotes that will interest people here.

"The fastest quarterback in the second group was Zabransky (4.5), followed by Thompson (4.67) and Michigan State's Drew Stanton (4.72). Troy Smith didn't run, but he is throwing in all the drills.

Running back Adrian Peterson (Oklahoma) notched a 4.37 in his 40. The other top runners, Marshawn Lynch (Cal) and Antonio Pittman (Ohio State) ran 4.5s."

Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma: No one is denying Peterson's ability or top 10 status, but scouts are becoming increasingly concerned about his lack of durability. At 6-2, 220 pounds, Peterson has an upright running style and endured a great deal of punishment in his three seasons at Oklahoma. A dislocated shoulder limited Peterson throughout his freshman season. A nagging ankle injury kept him out against Baylor and limited him to a half or less against Texas, Kansas and Kansas State in 2005. This past season, Peterson missed seven games with a broken collarbone. When healthy, he is among the draft's top players and among those most likely to make an immediate impact in the NFL. Peterson's tendency to get injured, however, will weigh heavily on the minds of teams picking high in the first round.

This was in a supposed article by somebody named Rob Rang about risers/fallers during the NFL Combine. No mention of a huge vertical leap and sub-4.4 speed. All he can spout is what the talking heads have been saying for well over a year (even before the collarbone injury). Get out and do your homework, doofus, otherwise you are just copying and pasting someone else's copy. Oh, he was also wrong on the height and weight. He also posted it on 2/20 (the day before the Combine started).

When AD weighed in last night, it sounded like the commentators had a man-crush on him. One guy said, "I have heard of people having a six-pack but this kid has a full case."

I think the commentators have a man-crush on almost all the players. They were measuring the DB's and one - I forget who it was - was coming up and they were talking about him and then he steps up to get measured and the commentator says something like "Oh, look at the body on him."

In quarterback drills Jared Z didn't do too hot, although they did have some positive things to say about him - mostly, of course, about the statue of liberty play. One drill the QB's were supposed to throw it in between two cones to the receiver and he threw it quite a bit off-target and into the ground.

The highlight of the day that had all the guys gushing was Calvin Johnson. Supposedly he wasn't going to work out but changed his mind, borrowed some guy's shoes, and ran a 4.35.

I didn't think so either. They made it sound earlier like they take the best of the two runs. I guess they were just that much off their earlier measurements.
So I just watched one of the guys interview AD, it went pretty good, and he was very classy. They asked who impressed AD the most as the best overall player and he answered "Calvin Johnson". He also said that he and Marshawn have become tight.
