I don't know if Phil is the publisher of John Amaechi's "coming out" book but they've been promoting it like crazy for the past few days. Tim Hardaway (former all-star) took the bait and declared, "I hate gay people...First of all, I wouldn't want him on my team. And second of all, if he was on my team, you know, I would really distance myself from him because I don't think that is right."
OK, maybe his statements are a bit extreme but
(a) would you want a gay moderator on OUr board?
(b) if you were a moderator, would you feel comfortable with a gay equal in authority?
(c) The NBA banned him for his statements, is that right?
The answers to these questions will have major ramification for this board in the next few years.
