Drinking a martini and pondering serious stuff tonight. So...... is it
Breakfast
lunch and
dinner
or is it
Breakfast
dinner and
supper
in the south it is the second choice - dinner is usually the big meal of the day. When I was in Oklahoma, we called it breakfast lunch and dinner. Whatcha think?

The first one - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Only rarely would I use supper for the evening meal and I would never use dinner for the mid-day meal. And, I never use English for daily conversations anyway, so I probably don't count.

It was The Lord's Supper because it was dark outside, no? For dinner they feasted on roasted duck in a light creamy bernaise sauce, chilled asparagus, and organic banana pudding.
It's all documented.

When I lived in Anadarko, the farmers/ranchers always referred to the mid-day meal as dinner. I never quite got used to it. I never wore a dinner jacket to lunch either.

Dinner is the noon meal. Lunch is something you eat in the field. Supper is at night.

The ignorant hillbilly side of my family says 'breakfast, dinner, supper'; so that can't be right. Also, you've never heard of 'brinner' in place of 'brunch', have you? It's breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I don't know much about any of those; but I'ma get me some 4th meal here pretty soon. :texan:
Breakfast.
Lunch.
Dinner.
Supper is something that church-ladies sponsor once a month with great food, better desserts, and more 'bless her heart's than I hear in a normal week.
