its disgusting that we've got our troops over there trying to do their job, and they have to listen to words from the right such as we're hearing

In the Senate, Collins joined two Republicans and one Democrat to unveil nonbinding legislation expressing disagreement with Bush's plan. The president should consider "all options and alternatives" involving a smaller force, the measure said.

Here we go again----- - Let the military leaders in Iraq with years of war behind us now - have say so in what they need to win the damn war....

If they have a year too do it- measure it... If we are pulling out .... get them out now.... too squeeze the effort is too kill American Soldiers....

Just go easy on me if you're gonna slam me... it's Friday afternoon and I just wanna relax...

I don't know if he came up with that originally or not.. most likely not, but since I read it in one of his books, I contributed that quote to him.

Ahhhh, now I get it. Sorry, I misunderstood your post. When I first read "Democrats ready to wave white flag in Iraq" I thought you were speaking of Democrats in general (i.e. all democrats are ready to surrender in Iraq).

In reality, you meant "Democrats [who are] ready to wave white flag in Iraq" and were speaking of Waxman only.

My mistake.

You know you're cute when you act coy.

The Democrats argue Bush and Rumsfeld screwed up by not sending enough troops in to get the job done. Now they oppose more troops being sent in.

If they aren't for fewer troops and they aren't for more troops and they're not for total capitulation then what the hell do they support? Please give me the 411, I'm all ears.(or eyes)

Sorry Fan, I'm just growing weary of the constant labelling and gross over-generalizations around here. Saying "the Democrats oppose a troop increase" is generally correct (I don't know of any that do not oppose it) but it fails to mention that there are some Republicans who also oppose it. You're generally a better poster than that. Maybe I've just seen so much of it lately that I'm going out of my way to look for it now. I dunno. Whatever.....

i'm surprised you lasted this long. that's how people politically debate. you generalize the "other"side, but when your side is attacked, you ask for specifics and ignore facts.

I have problems with how Bush and Rumsfeld conducted the war but to start throwing in the towel now is a dangerous and short-sighted position. The Muslim radicals are jackals and they smell fear and prey on weakness.

Always listen to their newest proclamation of how socialism will work, and how EVIL America is, and weigh each silly-a*sed argument on its merits.

Im gonna weigh in one time on this whole subject , so be prepared it may be my longest post ever . Cause I usually stay the **** outta poli threads and such .
Thoughts on Iraq
Should we have even went in , I dont know , the whole country thought so at the time .
Should we have sent in More troops, at the time ? Hell YES , shoulda sent in every swingin dick we had in uniform , and a few that dont swing ( sorry ladies ).
Is it "Another " viet nam ? hell NO . we are not fighting a government , Citizen supported foe .
Should we stay ? GETERDONE
should we pull out NOW ? if thats what this country wants then GETERDONE NOW . I dont want to see another Casualty , If we are Not gonna let our troops fulfill their Mission . If we are gonna stay send em everything weve got to GETERDONE.
I dont want this to turn into a Nam thingy . If we pull out before Mission fully accomplished, then the sacrifices made By those who have been there , are wounded ,or dead are in vain .and weve ****ed away a lot of our youth
Lets get the ****ing JOB done then get the **** OUT . Or get the **** OUT NOW
Sorry maybe I should just delete this , but I aint gonna !

I think a whole mess of us feel the exact same way, Vet.

If we're in, then by God, get in. A**hole and elbows deep, and put the full faith and credit in the hurtin' ability of our boys in uniform. Unhitch the leash. Because as long as we keep that dog on that political leash, all we're doing is killin' hard workin' men and women for the sake of a political position. If brothers and sisters are gonna die, make it worthwhile. Set a footprint. Stomp a mudhole. And have every jihadin' son of a bitch within a thousand miles knowing full well that to cross that line means lots and lots of dead asses.

That, or get the hell out. Plain and simple.

Either do the deed or hitch the wagons and bolt. This half-***, namby-pamby Rules of Engagement way to wage war is ridiculous. And it's puttin' our boys unnecessarily in harm's way. If they're gonna be there, let 'em do their job just like you or I would in our respective employment.

I didn't stereotype anyone, I said from my experiences as a Marine I hate the Democratic Party. It's the truth, I don't care for them. I guess since I don't care for Democrats that makes me ignorant and small minded. I think in the last 38 years Americans have only put 2 in office.

The funny thing is that the Democrats were the ones that got us into Vietnam and it was the Republicans (Nixon) who got us out.

For the record, I am a Democrat and thought that we should have stayed out of Iraq, since Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. I also find it wrong to invade other countries with no provocation. How long do you think it will take to win the peace in Iraq?
