Tried of it I tell ya. The phone bill came in I have 2 lines 1 for the phone and one for the speedy 28 k I get on the puter. For the 2 phones with in line repair service $53.00. Add in all the taxes and fees and its $84.00 bucks.:mad: :mad:

Have you considered just giving it all up to Cox? We got teevee, phone and innerweb thru them. I think its less that what you're paying for the above.

I wish I could. I live kind of in the sticks.. about 2 miles south of any of their services... I wish I could. I wouldnt complian if i could get some sort of DSL. the 28.8 k is killing me.

It took a couple of years to find out Goldsby offered wireless broadband. I got it & like it. I'd be lying if I said it was lightning fast--but it's definately not dial up. I'm downloading at about 120-150 mbps.

I finaly got a decent cellphone package , had a cell anyway . Dumped the 2 nd line Saved about 80 bucks .
You can save another 12 or so if you tell em to shove their Line repair fees . Hell fixing a phone line in your house is easy , anything outside they have to tke care of. You are payinf em 150 or so a year to agree to fix a wire that hardly ever has a prob ,

funny thing is I have a line problem inside the house. I just have not had time to call them to set it up, plus take off work. As soon as i get it fixed i will be dropping that little feature. dont know why i keep the main line. I guess i have had that phone number for about 25 years.

When I lived in OKC I had Sprint Broadband Direct (http://www.sprintbroadband.com/) fixed wireless, it was great faster than any other service that I had seen. I lived near 50th & Independence and DSL was on the other side of Lake Hefner Parkway and having DirecTV I had no interest in cable.

When I moved to Austin Sprint didn't have service here so I went the cable route through Earthlink. The cable service head is in my backyard and I was on the very limits of DSL in my area, plus the cable was cheaper and less taxes/fees.
