SETTING THE STAGE: Oklahoma faces Arizona tonight in the last of a pair of games between the teams this weekend…Oklahoma beat Arizona 5-1 Friday night in a penalty-filled affair…With last night’s win, Oklahoma’s all-time record against Arizona is now 10-2-0…Oklahoma has won its last two games and six of its last ten contests…Arizona has lost its last five games, all on the road.
RESIDENCE HALL NIGHT AT OU HOCKEY: Students currently living in the OU residence halls need only flash something at the ticket booth that shows they live in either Cate, Adams, Walker or Couch and they’ll be able to get in to tonight’s game for only $3.00…All “dormies” at the game will be eligible to be selected for intermission contests and the chance to win some incredible prizes from OU Hockey.
OKLAHOMA NOTES: The Sooners got goals last night from forwards Adrian Borchgrevink, Owen Brewer, Justin Hall, Luke Rose and Ryan Kenney…Borchgrevink’s goal was his team-leading 22nd of the season…Oklahoma goaltender Aaron Schmeilski stopped 15 of 16 shots on goal from Arizona last night…Hall’s goal last night was the only power play tally for the Sooners in 10 man advantage opportunities…The Sooners are 43-12-1 all-time in games played on Saturdays and 29-7-0 in Saturday night games at home.
ARIZONA NOTES: Arizona’s lone goal last night was scored by Eric Kowalek…The IceCats racked up the penalty minutes last night, accumulating 124 of the 166 total PIMs in the contest…Seventy of Arizona’s penalty minutes were from ten-minute misconducts, game disqualifications and a game misconduct…Arizona traveled with only 15 skaters and two goalies…Leading scorers Matt Conover and Craig Irwin, along with excellent forwards Cody Morin and Keith Patterson, were among those that did not make the trip to Oklahoma…To make matters worse for Arizona, forwards Dave Cwik and Robbie Nowinski received game disqualification penalties last night and are not eligible to play tonight.
