Anyone done it yet? Consolesource.com (http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog/Storage-Media-orderby0-p-1-c-260.html) has a Fujitsu 120GB 2.5" for $169. It IS pricy for that model, but they say it will work. I'd rather buy from someone else at a cheaper price. Anyone done an upgrade yet before I buy?

as far as i can tell, this is a compatible model, unless i'm missing something

it's SATA 150 and 5400 RPM, but it's like $101 shipped

it says "upgrade is plug and play, anyone can do it" but i'm not sure what that means

if that drive isn't formatted, i'm not sure how you would from the PS3, unless it's in addition to the one that is already there

If you have the dexterity to be a good gamer, then I want you to perform my vasectomy. What time can I come in Dr. Nimblefingers?

Testicle size is irrelevent.

So ma'am, have you had your tubes tied?

I can tie a knot in it if that's what you mean.

That's another thing I'm worried about. The consolesource link makes it look like it will work just fine. I don't remember if the PS3 comes with an OS disk that would need to be reloaded or not.

Thanks, yermom. I ordered it. We'll see how it goes.

from the pictures it looks like the OS is embedded in the hardware, like other consoles

Cool. That'll make things easier.

It's not like I'd buy an XBox 360. :D

I got it installed. It literally took me 3 minutes. Seems to work just fine. I formatted the HDD and it already had my account information listed on the new drive. Only my downloads and saved games were missing. Pretty easy. I hope it keeps working.:O
