John Cobbs played for OU from 1976-1979. #81 TE.
John had a heart attack and passed away last week.
I knew John when he was the Minister of Education for my church for several years back in the 90's.
He returned to a church in Edmond a few years ago as Oklahoma was deeply in his soul, as was Jesus Christ.
John was a great witness for his beliefs and promised his church that someday he would fill it. That happened last week when an estimated 2000 people filled the church to overflowing to pay their respects to a fine man, a devoted father, an OU football fan, and a tremendous witness for his religious beliefs.
It was an honor to know you personally John. May you now be watching Sooner football games from heaven in the Big SkyBox.
