I'm always surprised how low my voice it is where I hear it recorded. Is anyone else the same way? My voice seems a lot higher in my head.

My voice seems a lot higher in my head.

Same here. I hear recordings of myself and think it's Barry freakin' White or something. :D I think that's normal.

mine just sounds weird to me. I think it's higher than it sounds to me, which is weird, because people always comment on how low my voice is.

Mine is a lot higher than I think. I hear the word "perky" a lot, which is not how I hear myself.

lower. I'm always surprised by the sound of my own voice when I hear it from a recording.

My voice isn't as resonant as it sounds to me. I'm more nasal-sounding than I think I am. The pitch doesn't confuse me - I'm a trombone player. ;)

I hate my voice. Everytime I hear it, I think, ...nevermind.

For some reason my recorded voice has a Scottish accent. It's weird.

Well, he went down to dinner in his Sunday best
Excitable boy, they all said
And he rubbed the pot roast all over his chest
Excitable boy, they all said

He took in the four a.m. show at the Clark
Excitable boy, they all said
And he bit the usherette's leg in the dark
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

He took little Suzie to the Junior Prom
Excitable boy, they all said
And he raped her and killed her, then he took her home
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy
After ten long years they let him out of the home
Excitable boy, they all said
And he dug up her grave and built a cage with her bones
Excitable boy, they all said
Well, he's just an excitable boy

I used to know a girl that sounded English when she was drunk. She wouldn't believe us until we got her drunk and recorded her, then played it back to her when she sobered up.
