Chorus
We are the Bears Shufflin' Crew
Shufflin' on down, doin' it for you.
We're so bad we know we're good.
Blowin' your mind like we knew we would.
You know we're just struttin' for fun
Struttin' our stuff for everyone.
We're not here to start no trouble.
We're just here to do the Super Bowl Shuffle.
Walter Payton
Well, they call me Sweetness,
And I like to dance.
Runnin' the ball is like makin' romance.
We've had the goal since training camp
To give Chicago a Super Bowl chance.
And we're not doin' this
Because we're greedy.
The Bears are doin' it to feed the needy.
We didn't come here to look for trouble,
We just came here to do
The Super Bowl Shuffle.
Willie Gault
This is Speedy Willie, and I'm world class.
I like runnin' but i love to get the pass.
I practice all day and dance all night,
I got to get ready for the Sunday fight.
Now I'm as smooth as a chocolate swirl,
I dance a little funky, so watch me girl.
There's not one here that does it like me,
My Super Bowl Shuffle will set you free.
Mike Singletary
I'm Samurai Mike I stop'em cold.
Part of the defense, big and bold,
I've been jammin' for quite a while,
Doin' what's right and settin' the style,
Give me a chance, I'll rock you good,
Nobody messin' in my neighborhood.
I didn't come here lookin' for trouble,
I just came to do The Super Bowl Shuffle
(Repeat Chorus)
Jim McMahon
I'm the punky QB, known as McMahon.
When I hit the turf, I've got no plan.
I just throw my body all over the field.
I can't dance, but I can throw the pill.
I motivate the cats, I like to tease.
I play so cool, I aim to please.
That's why you all got here on the double
To catch me doin' the Super Bowl Shuffle.
Otis Wilson
I'm mama's boy Otis, one of a kind.
The ladies all love me
For my body and my mind.
I'm slick on the floor as I can be
But ain't no sucker gonna get past me.
Some guys are jealous
Of my style and class,
That's why some end up on their -,
I didn't come here lookin' for trouble,
I just get down to The Super Bowl Shuffle.
Steve Fuller
They say Jimbo is our man.
If Jimmy can't do it, I sure can.
This is Steve, and it's no wonder
I run like lightnin', pass like thunder.
So bring on Atlanta, bring on Dallas,
This is for Mike and Papa Bear Halas.
I'm not here to feather his ruffle,
I just came here to do
The Super Bowl Shuffle.
Mike Richardson
I'm L.A. Mike, and I play it cool.
They don't sneak by me 'cause I'm no fool.
I fly on the field and get on down.
Everybody knows I don't mess around.
I can break'em, shake'em,
Any time of day.
I like to steal it and make 'em pay,
So please don't cry to beat my hustle
'Cause I'm just here to do
The Super Bowl Shuffle.
(Repeat Chorus)
Richard Dent
The sackman's comin', I'm your man Dent.
if the quarterback's slow,
He's gonna get bent.
We stop the run, we stop the pass,
I like to dump guys on their -.
We love to play for the world's best fans,
You better start makin'
Your Super Bowl plans.
But don't get ready or go to any trouble
Unless you practice
The Super Bowl Shuffle.
Gary Fencik
It's Gary here, and I'm Mr.Clean.
They call me "hit man,"
Don't know what they mean.
They throw it long and watch me run,
I'm on my man, one-on-one.
Buddy's guys cover it down to the bone,
That's why they call us the 46 zone.
Come on everybody let's scream and yell,
We're goin' to do the Shuffle,
Then ring your bell.
William Perry
You're lookin' at the Fridge,
I'm the rookie.
I may be large, but I'm no dumb cookie.
You've seen me hit, you've seen me run,
When I get the pass, we'll have more fun.
I can dance, you will see
The others, they all learn from me.
I don't come here lookin' for trouble,
I just came here to do
The Super Bowl Shuffle.
(Repeat Chorus)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Super Bowl Shuffle was a rap (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hip_hop_music) song recorded by members of the Chicago Bears (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Bears) football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football) team prior to their appearance in Super Bowl XX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XX).

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/ed/Superbowlshuffle.jpg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Superbowlshuffle.jpg)
Known as Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew, the performers included "Sweetness" Walter Payton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Payton), "Punky QB" Jim McMahon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_McMahon), and "Samurai" Mike Singletary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Singletary). The music was composed by Bobby Daniels and Lloyd Barry, and the lyrics were written by Richard E. Meyer and Melvin Owens. Other participants included:

Willie Gault (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Gault)
Steve Fuller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Fuller)
Mike Richardson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Richardson_%28football%29)
Richard Dent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Dent)
Gary Fencik (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Fencik)
Otis Wilson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otis_Wilson)
William "Refrigerator" Perry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Perry_%28American_football%29)Riding the wave of football mania that gripped Chicago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago) in 1985 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985), the "Super Bowl Shuffle" reached #41 on the Billboard charts, #75 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks, and earned a Grammy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy) nomination (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nomination) for best Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance—Duo or Group, the first (and undoubtedly only ever) nomination for a sports team. (They lost to Prince and the Revolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_%28artist%29)'s "Kiss (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiss_%28song%29)".) Although some found the lyrics boastful, profits from the song and its accompanying video were given to charity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charitable_organization), backing Payton's claim that the they "are not doing it because [they're] greedy, the Bears are doing it to feed the needy."
A female referee, played by Julia Kallish, Richard E. Meyer's wife, was also on hand for the radio and television edit of the song. On two occasions, she whistled and threw a penalty flag to censor the word "***" in the lyrics, which was then considered a prohibited word on television and radio.

Notes

As noted in Chicago Bears History, by Roy Taylor (Arcadia, 2004, p.79), the song and video were produced the Tuesday after the Bears first (and only) loss of the season. In their "unlucky" 13th game, the Bears were defeated by the Miami Dolphins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miami_Dolphins), in Miami, 38-24, on Monday night. This win was significant for the Dolphins, whose franchise owns the only undefeated season in NFL history (1972) since the beginning of the playoff system in 1933.
Bears defensive end Dan Hampton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Hampton) declined involvement in the shuffle because he felt it was too cocky [1] (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page3/story?page=katcher/040825).
The music video for the song was filmed at the Park West, a venue in Lincoln Park, in Chicago.
Payton and McMahon were unable to attend the original filming of the song's music video (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_video), so they were spliced in later with help of a chroma key (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_key).
During Steve Fuller's part of the song, he says "So bring on Atlanta, bring on Dallas, this is for Mike and Papa Bear Halas". The "Mike" he referred to was the Bears' current head coach, future hall of famer Mike Ditka (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Ditka). "Papa Bear Halas" refers to legendary Chicago coach George Halas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Halas), who coached the Bears for 40 seasons and had died 2 years earlier. Fuller's verbal challenge to the Atlanta Falcons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_Falcons) and the Dallas Cowboys (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallas_Cowboys) refers to the two games he started for the injured Jim McMahon, leading the Bears to 36-0 and 44-0 shutout victories against those opponents, respectively.
Imitators

Other teams tried but were unable to repeat the Bears' success:

In 1985, the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes won the KCAC conference in the NAIA. They made the "KCAC shuffle" and showed it on the local access channel for Salina, KS, Channel 6.
After winning Super Bowl XXI the New York Giants release "Walk Like A Giant", based on "Walk Like An Egyptian" by The Bangles.
In 1986, three teams tried to repeat the formula. The Los Angeles Raiders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles_Raiders) released "The Silver and Black Attack", based on "The Yellow and Black Attack (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Yellow_and_Black_Attack)" by Stryper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stryper). The San Francisco 49ers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_49ers) answered any questions about who they were with "We're the 49ers", a pop / R&B single. The Los Angeles Rams (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles_Rams) chimed in with "Let's Ram It". Neither team won a playoff game, though.
In 1988 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_NFL_season), Cincinnati Bengals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Bengals) rookie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rookie) Ickey Woods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ickey_Woods) became famous for the "Ickey Shuffle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Bengals#The_Ickey_Shuffle)". His team lost in Super Bowl XXIII (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XXIII), though.
During the 1994 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_NFL_season) season, the Pittsburgh Steelers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh_Steelers) reportedly were planning to create a similar concept. Reportedly, coach Bill Cowher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Cowher) vetoed the idea. The Steelers lost 17-13 to San Diego (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Diego_Chargers) in the 1994 AFC Championship game.
In November 1999 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_NFL_season), the confident Jacksonville Jaguars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacksonville_Jaguars) recorded their own version, "Uh Oh, The Jaguars Super Bowl Song". However, the Jaguars lost in the AFC Championship game.
Cincinnati funk pioneer Bootsy Collins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootsy_Collins) teamed up with the 2005 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_NFL_season) Cincinnati Bengals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Bengals) for a playoff song called "Fear Da Tiger", but they, too, fell short of the Super Bowl.
Verne Gagne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verne_Gagne) and his AWA (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=AWA_%28wrestling%29&action=edit) wrestling organization promoted a major event with a hilariously awful song known as the "WrestleRock Rumble" that actually featured the geriatric Gagne rapping.

It was performed in-character by the actors who played the football team, and Goldie Hawn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldie_Hawn) who played their coach.
