I find it hard to believe, that in this drought, no one here has picked up this and run with it.

OSU tickets to hike
By BILL HAISTEN World Sports Writer
1/30/2007

Officials announce another $64 increase.

In 2005, a basic Oklahoma State football season ticket was priced at $231. In 2006, the same ticket went for $295, an increase of $64.

The price again has been increased, OSU officials announced on Monday, and again it is a $64 hike. For the six-game 2007 home schedule, the basic season ticket is $359.

OSU launches its season-ticket renewal campaign on Thursday. Prospective ticket-buyers will be presented with multiple payment plans. Donor seating will be priced the same as it was last season, university officials stated in a press release. In 2006, the club-level season ticket went for $395, along with a $1,500 donation to the Posse Club.

The Cowboys have home dates this year with Florida Atlantic (Sept. 8), Texas Tech (Sept. 22), Sam Houston State (Sept. 29), Kansas State (Oct. 20), Texas (Nov. 3) and Kansas (Nov. 10). OSU has not announced single-game ticket prices.

Even with Texas A&M, Nebraska and Oklahoma on the 2006 Stillwater schedule, none of OSU's six home dates was a sellout. OSU's 43,500-seat Boone Pickens Stadium is the smallest football venue in the Big 12.

In 2006, Oklahoma State's season-ticket sales total was 33,000, down from 37,000 in
2005. Last season's average attendance was 40,954. In 2005, it was 44,860.

I read this yesterday and was cracking up. All anyone at OSU did this season was bitch about the price of season tickets and what does OSU do, raise the ticket prices once again. Their ticket sales are slumping big time, and are only going to get worse with the ticket price hike. After the new addition is completed, they will only be filling out about half of the stadium.

Lets see....uh, sales are down.. lets increase capacity and raise the price. Brilliant!

I think the plan is to enclose the west endzone; at least they have a big semi-circle dug out with a chainlink fence around it and signs posted that say construction zone.

Who is going to sit in these seats? During ticket sales for the Indy Bowl, Puke fans were whining because the seats available were in the endzone. (Gasp!) If they are all too good for endzone seats at their big bowl game, who will buy them for regular season? Wonder what the price will be? Probably more than the cost of the tetanus shot.

Talk to any OSU puke and when they are not spewing out crap like "Wait til next year, Gooner" They are normally saying "We are on the rise and we will be winning the Big 12 very soon"

I was bored, so here ya go

I take it that OSU doesn't have a strong Economics department....They're suppose to have a strong agriculture department, but they cant grow grass.

They're also suppose to have a strong engineering department, but who builds a football field/stadium in the wrong direction?

Maybe some anonymous donor will pay for all the remaining tickets and give them away?

Aggie Lojik: We're not selling as many tickets so we need to increase the price to make up the revenue difference.

Touching on that subject, I believe I read that they built it that way primarily because of the wind (since it's seems to be either straight from the north or south).

Grass is going in after the IPF is completed and the artificial surface that is currently on the stadium ground is moved over there.

They're also suppose to have a strong engineering department, but who builds a football field/stadium in the wrong direction?

Not that big of a deal.

Maybe some anonymous donor will pay for all the remaining tickets and give them away?

When the WEZ project is completed, those tickets will be much cheaper, and will sell just fine... At least I hope so.

Interesting to see Sam Houston State on their schedule. At the risk of being ridiculed for mentioning his name, wonder if Bomar will beat them again. That would be funny.

roflmao gawd! tell me there isn't a sign that says "construction zone" i don't know which is funnier......the fact that there is a big fuggin hole in the ground with a sign explaining what it is or.....the fact that the school actually had to put the sign up explaining what it is.

and another thing......with my "donation" i paid way more than that and you mean to tell me they can't part with 300 or so bucks for football? WTF? the rust will reform by the time they sell that dump out.

HOW are they going to sell season tix when they don't even have their "rivalry" game this year?! not even ou fans will buy season tickets, let alone osu fans!

what would be amusing is if they raise student prices by that much. that's the only crowd that still cares.

they play georgia... but it's at georgia.
they play troy... but it's at troy.
let's see... home games...

1- FAU (perennial ESPN.com Bottom 10 power)
2- Texas Tech (would you pay 300 bucks to see their coach cry after Tech wins?)
3- Sam Houston State (who else wants to assemble an OSU-fanbase just to cheer for Brett Bonehead to have a craptacular game?)
4- KSU (well... i guess they travel pretty well...)
5- Texas (adjust tv to distinguish orange from oranger)
6- Kansas (cheer on Mangino, or he gets fired)

And there you have it. The only game I'm tempted to see is SHS, because I have some booing I need to do.

I wonder what the face value of that Texas ticket is going to be. It's their only marquee game. They had Nebraska and OU last year, and the prices were ridiculous, even for those two games. And they're going to raise them for this? Yikes.

2 years ago I went to the OSU/Texas game (Where VY had 500 yards by himself) in Stoolwater and paid $10 for a face $60 ticket and sat 6 rows from the field. I had to lead the student section in yelling "sucks" to overpower the UT fans yelling "fight", because the students weren't doing it. So yeah I don't think anyone will pay too much for that game.
