...the mug's full

Mongo
1/30/2007, 12:11 AM
how full?

If it's, say a 1/2" below the rim, you could add enough ice to raise the tea level to the brim. Then let the ice melt.

So dump some out.

no kidding! it's darn good tea with darn good honey and darn good sugar in it... there's just a slight excess of sugar.

Salt cuts sugar. Put some salt in it.

Add some acidity to it, like a lemon or lime. That can cut the sweetness of it.

Just shut up and drink the damn tea! ;)

I AM just drinking it, as Tailwind said. I was just voicing my displeasure because i'm bored. Actually, this is how I used to always drink tea, until the past few years... we started buying really good tea, and I don't like to cover up the flavor with sugar. I'm just sad because now the sugar's covering up a lot of the flavor of the sourwood honey :(

proud gonzo

simple :Dit's already in the trash, and besides--if you steep the tea leaves for more than 3-5 minutes it gets bitter because of the tannins, and that's bad

And bourbon. And probably some vodka. And the way I'm going I'll probably be looking for another bottle of scotch in the near future.

If ever there was a tempest in a teapot, this be it.
(Sure can tell when football season is over.)

In a related story... Someone, somewhere, may have overcooked a meatloaf.
Oh, the humanity!

I take issue with this statement. I'm not exactly refuting it, I just think it needs qualification. When one drinks Patron, the window of buzzy fun tends to close rather quickly. But that twenty minutes before one passes out right at the table can be real enjoyable.

OU4LIFE

I agree, it's a bit of an art to keep oneself in that buzzy fun state while working exclusively with Patron....admittedly, it's a skill i'm still worki*thud*
