wow, this hotel.....and for that matter, the town.........has really changed over the years, and not for the better (sorry tulsaoilerfan)

the entire family checked into the hotel sunday afternoon - the same place we all stayed 30 years ago when my grandfather died......my dad goes back frequently for high school reunion gatherings and such

what a dump the place is, but apparently they have a new owner that is going to put 1 million in renovations - much needed.

our family took over the dining room sunday nite for dinner - the staff of "one" was overwhelmed - poor girl

my aunt wanted a glass of berringers wine.....the waitress said "we dont have that kind"......."well, what kind do you have?" "i dont know, let me go read the box"

doh....

so many things wrong with the room we were in......hair on the pillow case.....umm, ok....you were taking your life into your own hands if you walked barefoot on the carpet

the shower...nuff said

sunday nite when we all walked into the dining room, the gal that came out of the kitchen was wearing a tshirt with the sleeves cut off........bare underarms in the kitchen always make me smile...

yeah it was a holiday inn....not sure when holiday inn bailed on it

apparently they have a new owner thats going to renovate it.....the town itself has really gone downhill imo....which is sad, its my family's hometown.....the junkyard on the west end of town is a great way to greet travelers....worst eyesore ever

We never, ever call 'em hair nets. It's hair restraint. Some guys will wear a hair restraint, but never ever wear a hair net.

when i was working for locke, i had to deliver a commercial water heater to that hole. I called to see if i was going to have help unloading and they said "lord yes". i go to unload the thing and they send out this guy that had to be about 85 or 90 and was so thin he was transparent. and i kept picturing him being the "mister, mister" lady from happy gilmore with the heater laying on top of him. anyway thankfully i still have a back

No offense JK, after living here my whole life, i have pretty much accepted that this town is nothing special; the only good thing to happen in the last 20years or so is the town finally figured out that they needed to put some money into education and sports, so we have a new middle school and early childhood center, plus a new basketball arena on the way and 2 indoor hitting facilities; at least my kid has a better school life than i ever had. Still, it's my home and i like the small town life for the most part.

oh for small town living, which there's much to be said for, its a great town

i was just shocked at the appearance - or saddened....my dad grew up there.....we went by the old family house on 5th street
