My grandmother died yesterday at 5pm....I was with her. I got to Spanish Cove in Yukon around 1130 and watched what has to be the hardest 5 hours i've ever seen. in the end, she went peacefully......we will bury her monday in Henryetta

she was 90 years old, the matriarch of our family......and just absolutely the greatest woman I have ever known.

Graham, Delilah Maxine
DELILAH MAXINE GRAHAM 1916 - 2207 Delilah Maxine Graham, nee Watts, was born in Kusa, Oklahoma, Okmulgee County, on November 14, 1916. She was one of four children born to Martin Luther Watts, and Emma Lucille Watts, nee Johnson. They called her 'Maxine'. When she was two and a half years old, the terrible flu epidemic came and Maxine's beloved 31 year old father died from the flu. He was buried in Henryetta, Oklahoma, and two months later, her younger brother, Martin Luther Watts, was born. Maxine's mother raised her four children. Maxine started school in Henryetta, Oklahoma, but graduated from high school in Skiatook, Oklahoma. After high school, Maxine attended college at Colorado University at Boulder, Colorado. She met Gwaultney Comer 'G.C.' Santee and married him on February 22, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and lived there for the first few years of their marriage. Their first child, Stuart Watts Santee, was born November 18, 1939, at Saint John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A short time later, Maxine and G.C. moved to Houston, Texas, with Stuart. Their second child, Susie Pritchett, nee Santee was born in Houston, on October 6, 1941. On July 10, 1947, their third child, David Kenton Santee, was born at Hillcrest Hospital, in Tulsa. G.C. was a certified public accountant and he and Maxine became very active in the Tulsa civic activities and in their church, Boston Avenue Methodist Church. As G.C.'s work often took him away from the family, he and Maxine moved to Henryetta where G.C. started an accounting practice that would allow him to spend more time with his family. The Santee family thrived in Henryetta. G.C. found time to play in dance bands and was a member of Rotary and other civic clubs. Maxine became involved in politics, was a Girl Scout leader, and was a member of at least six bridge clubs and still managed to find time to raise her family and attend all her children's school activities. She even found time to indulge in another favorite past-time, reading. She also decided that her children and their friends needed to learn how to dance properly, so she went to an Arthur Murray Studio in Tulsa and made arrangements for two instructors to come to Henryetta weekly to teach the children to dance. Pretty soon there were adult classes as well and a large number of the adults and children knew how to mambo, sambo, and waltz, and many other dances because of Maxine. Maxine was sought after by many civic organizations because they knew she would accomplish their goals. She was chairman of the heart drive, March of Dimes, and many other philanthropic endeavors. She was once selected as the best cook in Henryetta and taught a cooking lesson on the T. V. program 'Looking at Cooking', broadcast in Tulsa. Maxine was also a fifty year member of the Eastern Star. In 1959, the family moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The two older children were in college and Kent was starting Junior High. He attended and graduated from Classen High School. Maxine joined the workforce as a sales representative at Sears and was honored numerous times as a top salesperson. The attributes that made her so valuable to civil organizations also made her a special mother. She was determined that her children would achieve their life goals and she was there to help them do so. Each of her children graduated from college. Stuart graduated from Oklahoma City University and started a successful sales company that operated in the Southwest region of the United States. He currently lives in Granbury, Texas, with his wife, Normajean. Susie earned her Bachelors degree from Oklahoma University, her Masters from the University of Central Oklahoma, and her Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma University School of Law. Susie is a Judge in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma, and lives with her husband, Edd Pritchett, in Cashion, Oklahoma. Kent graduated from Oklahoma City University and he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Ardmore Oklahoma, where he served as a Child Welfare Supervisor in Ardmore, Oklahoma, until he retired. Kent died October 22, 2002. On October 25, 1976, G.C. died. Several years after his death, Maxine met Francis Leo Graham, a widower, and married him on November 10, 1979. Leo and Maxine traveled all over the world for ten years. Leo and Maxine purchased their retirement home at Spanish Cove in Yukon, Oklahoma and looked forward to spending the remainder of their years at Spanish Cove. Less than eight months after they moved into the Cove, Leo died. Maxine enjoyed her friends at Spanish Cove Retirement Center and her family. Maxine had three grandchildren, Jon Kevin Santee, Lesleigh Kristine Pritchett Steuart and Ervin Edd Pritchett, Jr. She is also a great-grandmother of six children: Jonathan Santee, Andrew Santee, Andrew Santee, Nicole Hoerschgen, Savannah Shults, Drew Shults, and Hunter Steuart. Maxine died at Spanish Cove Retirement Center on January 25, 2007. Memorial donations may be made to Frontier Hospice 3908 N. Peniel, Bethany, Oklahoma 73008 or Cashion Educational Foundation c/o Cashion Schools, Cashion, Oklahoma 73016. Viewing will be held Sunday 1p.m. to 8 p.m. at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2007 at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma. YANDA & SON FUNERAL HOME Yukon, OK 350-7101
