Congrats.

If you're into lawn care, you need to treat it for crabgrass in early to mid march. I like Scott's® Crabgrass preventer.

This has been a free public service message by your local nut case trucker.

But add an extry 100 a month towards principal you will cut that in 1/2 ;)

thats not the american way.. to do it right you need an interest only loan! course the first ten years any traditional mortgage is an interest only loan aint it.

well why buy a house you can afford to pay the extra 100 per month on? buy something you can barely make the payment on as it is.. ;)

I plan on paying it off in 10-15, MAX. I got something I could AFFORD, unlike most folks do. It's a modest size (1700 sf) and was a great price. I will do most of the work myself (with the help of my contractor uncle and step-dad).

olevet - I'm ready to dunk some minnows any time. I've been fishin LOTS of times in your neck of the woods. good times :)

my "to do" list
bamboo floors throughout
tile in the bathrooms (the existing tile in the kitchen will be OK for a while)
paint the walls, removing that awful trim along the top and in the kitchen
take off the "popcorn" texture on the ceiling, texture and paint
HW tank (it's the original, could go out ANY time)
new windows
all new stainless steel appliances, including a gas stove
new garage door (someone actually put a dent in this one, and it has a couple of other cracks in it)

I agree with everything except the bamboo floors. That's a fad that has run its course...at least according to my interior design maven daughter.

I still like em. I hate carpet with a passion, and the tree hugger side of me just can't do the real hardwood floors.

if you put in real hardwood floors you could hug em with your feet. ;)

nice house, congrats.

According to the homeowners lexicon:
Own (v.) - contraction for "owe on"

I have a truck, and I'll help you move. We just have to figure out how to get the furniture through the top hatch, which is about 2 feet in diameter.

I don't know how we'll get it back out.
