I had to go to the orthodontist today to get my permanent retainer checked. It's permanent because I don't have wisdom teeth. I never had them removed, I just don't have them. I guess that means I'm more evolved or something. I was just curious how common not having wisdom teeth was.

With careful inbreeding, wisdom teeth disappear in most species. :)

I had three wisdom teeth. I've got none now.

I think not having wisdom teeth means you're a commie or a terrorist or something.

You have to have wisdom to have wisdom teeth. If you have too much, you'll have to have the teeth pulled. :D

I had my first one yanked in 6th grade. They removed the other three when I was 21.

It is documented that our mouths are getting smaller with each generation as we get more and more processed food inot our diet. Perhaps this may be one aspect of that. Some people do and don't have wisdom teeth. They were required when we ate more "raw" and hard food, not today. Also, orthodontists can thank this for the boom in their business. Not enough room in the mouth cause all sorts of crookedness and stuff...

I don't have wisdom teeth and I've still yet to get my 12 yr molars in. The kicker is that I'm almost...gasp....30! I also had to have the palate expander that IronSooner has a pic of.
