I was there, cursing former AD Myron Roderick every 5 minutes for changing the game time just for ESPN. Funny how they don't mention the fact that the aggie band -- hats and all -- didn't stick around to the end of the game like The Pride.

Wasn't it like 75 degrees to begin that day?

Dad and I had tickets to that game ... but ended up at a game watching party with some of his friends because dad didn't think the drive from Tulsa to Stillwater would be all that safe.

I remember that game. As long as you had plenty of "spirits", it was really a fun game to watch.

Quite possibly:

"Ice Bowl," late November, 1985. “******” football (between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University) was played on a virtual skating rink at Lewis Field in Stillwater as heavy freezing rain and sleet fell throughout the evening game, accompanied by thunder and lightning at times. Freezing rain showers and thunderstorms affected many parts of the state through the day. This may have been the same day that parts of southern Oklahoma were under winter storm warnings and tornado watches at the same time, and when golf ball-size hail was reported in Duncan with a temperature of 33 degrees.

I just remember if the game had been played in the afternoon at its normal time, at worst the problems would have been in the 4th quarter and/or driving home.

I was there.. we had trash bag coverings to protect us from the freezing rain, and a 4 wheel drive jeep to get around in. You never forget that kind of experience.

heh... Who takes their tuba to the interview? (I'm not sure if it's a tuba, just the first thing that came to my mind... I'm sure hte 432,521 band members on here will correct me if I'm wrong.)

I watched it at home. Called a friend and asked him to watch the half time to see who was driving the Zamboni.

I was offered tickets to that game for free. I was in high school in Lamont at the time. I was going to go, but my basketball coach pretty much threatened me. He didn't want me out there in the cold, so he told me that if I went I shouldn't expect to play much in the next game. Wouldn't you know it.....my coach was an Aggie. I wish I could have gone.

Here's an interesting question......do you think they would play the game under the same conditions today, or do you think they would say it's too dangerous for people to drive in a storm like that?

Awesome-o that Hollieway could get around on that stuff better than the numerous Oklahomans and Texans and other neighbors who actually grew up having to deal with that stuff yearly. You could see him sliding around though... :D
