Snow will begin sooner than models think. That's right. Most forecasts you have heard up till now have the snow starting in the metro around midnight. We've been waiting for the model data to trickle to show when and how much. However, there is one flaw that is universal in the computer models when it comes to a snow event such as this. That is the snow starts earlier than predicted by as much as 6 to 12 hours. You may hear "the snow started earlier than expected" but that is just bad forecasting. I expect the snow to start as early as Friday afternoon in the metro and in SW Oklahoma by late Friday morning. Snow amounts will still climb up to a foot in some areas. 10 inches in the metro is not out of the realm of possibility. The snow should end fairly early Sunday morning.
