That was a dang good movie. Cotton farming culture in the American southwest is underappreciated. My grandparents in 1920's Carter Co, Oklahoma grew, chopped and picked it for a living...until the bottom fell out during the Depression.

In fact, Ardmore was the Cotton Capital of Oklahoma.

My grandparents did the same thing out in western Oklahoma back in the day. My mom has told us kids about how her 3 older siblings would go with them and stay gone for weeks at a time dealing with cotton.
