or something is stuck in my kitchen sink pipes. Eitehr way, it smells like death. What is the best drain cleaning product out there? I tried Liquid Plumber Gel, and it did nothing. The drain is working fine, but something is wrong....really wrong.

You left a can of Live-Chicken-In-A-Can under the sink didn't you?

No, those are all in route to the middle east.

Hey, I just realized how cool I made the title sound. I'm smart!

Maybe you should check under your house for a shallow unmarked grave.

You never know what your neighbors are up to!

If it is something that's dead, it might be a good time for a vacation. Go away for a week, leave the fans on and hope that the decomposition has taken place by the time you return.

I thought WD40 was the cure-all. Lubricant, stain remover, cough suppressant, etc.

i had a plumber tell me once that those "drano's" were their best friends.....meaning they do more harm than good

That's probably true. With most of the pipes in newer homes being PVC, I'll bet the hard core drano stuff just destroys them. AND, it didn't work anyway!

I'm assuming it's a house with a crawlspace? Have you looked in the crawlspace?

My old house got really stinky a few years back. The cleanout plug had popped out...and raw sewage had spilled out over a ten foot area. Nasty. Plumber had to suck it and spread some chemical over it (lye I think). No problems since.

Yes, there is a crawl space, and No, I will not enter it. I am afraid of the dark, spiders, snakes, bugs in general, and dirt.

How about just getting a flashlight and poking it through the crawlspace access?

(I understand about crawlspaces. I've been in mine too many times for my liking. Not fun.)

Me neither. That's why I suggested going on vacation and letting nature take its course. As an alternative, one could find some animal that eats carrion. Perhaps there are some turkey vultures that can be rented. We had one in our neighborhood a couple months back. Damn thing is gone now though. They're never around when you need them.
