Better to surprise 'em by turning unexpectedly at the last possible second.

Well, when the car ahead of you uses them, you have the option of slowly applying pressure to the brake pedal rather than stomping on it. :)

I ran into the back of some woman's car a couple of weeks ago because the beyonce decided at the last second she wanted to turn...Didn't signal, just got on the brakes. Then, instead of turning, she kinda turns about 1/4 of the way and stops. Of course, I have nowhere to go except into her back bumper. Luckily nothing really got messed up on either car so we just left - still p*ssed me off though.

Sometimes I use my blinkers when I'm not going to turn, just to throw them off.

Funny, people here do that all the time - only it isn't to throw everyone off, they just use turn signals so rarely that I guess they forgot how to turn them off...
