Out of the following Oklahoma communities, where would be a good place to start a career.
Guymon, Woodward, Enid, Ponca City, Stillwater, Vinita, Broken Arrow, Muskogee, Clinton, Altus, Anadarko, Chickashaw, Duncan, Paul's Valley, Ardmore, Durant, Idabel, McAlester, Poteau, and Tecumseh.

it's spelled Chickasha but nevermind, it'll be a ghost town in a few years.

Ardmore or Broken Arrow would be tops for that list. Ardmore is a wealthy community and there are a lot of people in their mid to late 20s actually doing things with their lives as opposed to places like Chickasha and Anadarko.

How is Stillwater beyond the whole Poke State thing. If I apply for Oklahoma openings, I would like to stay on the North Half because it would be easier for me to visit family.

Stay away from Vinita. Stillwater is nice, in places. Plenty more to do there than there is in other "small" towns on the list, esp. Enid if you're going for north side.

The area around Broken Arrow is expanding FAST b/c of suburban growth, but there's still plenty of farmland to the east. I'd look there.

PV isn't bad, sorta close to Norman and has an abundance of farmland (and mexicans). I don't recommend Poteau, it's located in poorest county in the state (although that might be a good thing when it comes to loans). Vinita is where the crazies are.

The most significant thing young adults (with jobs) do for fun in Ardville is "drive to the City," as in OKC, or maybe head south to DFW.

The young adults w/out jobs do what they always have done. They get drunk, stoned or both.

People need to get over the aggie perception of Stillwater. It's growing like crazy and has pretty much everything you want/need. It's not far from any civilization and besides, we're gettin' a second Wal-Mart. :D

I would say Stillwater, Broken Arrow and Woodward would be your best bets for the north part of Oklahoma. Although it wasn't on your list, you might check into the Elk City area as it seems to be growing faster than most other towns in western OK. Steer clear of Altus, that place looks to be on the down slide and Anadarko is just plain scary.

I haven't lived in Poteau all that long, but I agree it probably wouldn't be the best as far as farm loans go because it isn't really farming country around here. I know they aren't on your list, but how about something around the OKC metro. I know around the SW side there are still a lot of large farms, but the communities are fast growing places. Blanchard is a nice town if you want something smaller, and if you want something larger try Mustang. OKC out that far is also fairly rural.

Mrs. SoonerJack grew up in Ponca City. In my humble opinion, Stillwater>Ponca. I think the pluses of being a university town outweigh the pluses of having a statue of a woman and a big mansion formerly occupied by E.W. Marland. You must be able to put up with the Orange though.

Other towns I like in Oklahoma include Guthrie (the first capital of the state and close access to OKC, Stillwater, etc.). It is a smaller town that several of those you mentioned, but its central location would be a plus for you. Paul's Valley, haven't been there in a while, but it used to be a nice place. Regarding Chickasha, a good friend of mine is their new eco-devo director so they aren't going to be a ghost town any time soon. Only problem with Broken Arrow is that it might be lacking people seeking farm loans. Extreme southeastern part of the state is beautiful but I hear the weed farmers rarely seek loans.

Shouldn't you be able to buy of map of where the farming and cattle lands are. North and west, I'm guessing.

Some of the farming families around Ardmore have oil money and I don't know how successful you'd be extending loans to them.

Visit some of the local cattle auctions and ask who the bigger local ranchers would be.

Does Ardmore even have a cattle auction anymore?

Enid is building a brand spankin new bank(the company that you are looking at). It's freakin huge and looks really nice on the outside. So what I am sayin is you'd have a brand spankin new office. This area is "good people" as well, farming is a huge part of the local economy. Stillwater has more/better places to eat than Enid. Ponca didn't have much when I was there last but who knows now.
