FOX knows that probably at least 25% of their AI viewers (maybe a lot more) only watch the "bad" shows. That's why they drag them out. If you like those shows, you should watch more than just this week. At least the first 3 episodes will have the bad ones mixed in. And even the first part of the Hollywood auditions can be bad.

There is at least one student from OU trying out. A REALLY nice, great guy. There's also a guy from OU on that Grease show.

i read an article on msnbc.com......a girl gave her account of the "audition process"......she said that those that looked or dressed like freaks were moved to near the front of the line......they all went before other judges 3 at a time where they had 15 seconds, before being told to go home, or move forward to being in front of randy, paula and simon.....most of that is scripted for "train wreck tv"

Yup. In those lines there are a BUNCH of people that can actually sing, but they only let a small portion get in front of the judges. Obviously a huge portion of those people are bad to show the contrast and simply create entertainment. These opening auditions are what get us hooked, and the guys like "Nick the software engineer" are key to the process.

Apparently he had to be pretty young when he went the last couple of times. That and he may have just looked ordinary. Tonight he came in rocking the fro, cut up jeans, and a blazer that tied it all together. He looked original and sounded good too.

I know of a guy in Nebraska that was a youth Pastor that could sing like a mutha, but he went up there dressed plain, letting them know his profession, and he didn't make it past the initial screeners in the stadium. It's all about the package. If they can sell it, they might have a chance to get to the judges. That or just suck really hard and think you're good.

The okie from muskogee was better than some they have let through. Could be they see her potentially going very far with some lessons and performance skill practice, and didn't want her to go this year cause she could get overwhelmed by the whole thing and they would lose her. They do play games like that.

I was telling my wife last night that it seems as though they are turning away a lot of the younger ones (16-18 year olds) that are really good this year. They are basically telling most of the younge ones that they can be very good with lessons and to try again next year. The only problem with that is they don't let all of the actual good singers through to audition in front of Randy, Paula, and Simon because they have to leave room for the bad ones to get through as well...So coming back next year may not even be an option (even if they get better over that year)...

No doubt. They obviously sent in the comic relief to set the stage for a serious attempt. I thought it was one of the best played gimmicks I've seen on the show.
