Where are our seniors going to be going in the draft? In particular I was curious about Rufus and the DEs. Thanks

I definitely dont have any inside info, but what ive heard and seen from the sports animal, espn, and online mock drafts is that AD is obviously a top 10 pick most likely, after that rufus is 1st-2nd round, messner is a first day pick, thibs is second day, birdine is 2nd-3rd rd, lattimer is 3rd-5th rd, and after that I havent heard anything else

There is no way Messner is a first day pick.....I'd be extremely shocked.

if he is, that's quite the story for someone who was a high school QB.

And about 40 lbs lighter than the avg NFL tackle/guard.

Obviously, I think A.D. is a sure top-10 pick. Personally, I'd like to see him go later in that top 10 than sooner so that he gets with a better team. I would hate to see him go to Oakland, Detroit, Cleveland, etc. By the way, there's one of my friends that somehow thinks A.D. doesn't go until the late first round. Is there anyone here who can justify that, because I thought that was one of the dumbest things I'd ever heard. Also, I don't know how Messner could go on the first day. He was the lone senior on the o-line, but was by no means one of our best lineman in my eyes.

i saw on a different board that Messner wasn't invited to the combine.

I got that one beat, a guy here at work thinks AD will be a 2nd rounder! He say's he's a sooner faithful, but deep down he must really be :texan:

Good, I'm glad I at least know that I'm not the only one who has friends that are idiots :D

They are saying that AD will probably go between #5 and #12. Probably at #8, to the frickin Texans, who need a RB.

What do you guys think about PT as a reciever? He had 2 catches for 28 yards in the Aina v. Kai game.

What is crazy is that Zabransky was the QB (atleast for a time) for Kai. Someone please tell me Zabransky did not hook up w/ PT for one of his 2 catches.

I believe one was as Z-to-PT pass. Fortunately I had the sound off so I don't know if the announcers said anything about it.

I've heard that a lot of the scouts are saying some good things about P.T. as a wide receiver, but there's really no credibility in where I heard it from.

AD carries on the streak of Sooners in the first round. Isn't it up to 6 years now with Davin Joseph coming in strong (and unexpectedly) last year?

They did, but it was no big deal.

CJ Ah You played really well. The commentators spoke well of him during the game, off and on. I think Ah You could really do something at the next level, as well as P. Thompson.

I think Thompson could work in a roll similar to Antwaan Randle El in the NFL.

It is good for recruiting to have so many players go to the pros. I wish them all great success and hope they have long and prosperous careers. With that being said I hope we get a QB in here or develop one that can beat miami, texass and texass tech. next year.

I know it's not the popular pick, but I think AD goes around 12 or 13. The durability issue is a major concern. Of course, I hope I'm wrong (and will owe TexasGolfer a pizza if I am).

I think Ah You's stock is moving up, and I think he'll be a mid second day pick. He needs to add bulk, and the word is he could be moved to a OLB, ala DeMarcus Ware...in my opinion he's an undersized NFL DE).

I suspect that Rufus will be a 3rd round pick and probably a nice pick up for someone. If he has the speed, he could see time in the secondary, but could be a solid MLB with some added size.

Thibs reminds me so much of Wilkerson, and could play either DE or LB at the next level.

I think Latimer is going to do well on Sundays, although he isn't projected very high. With his speed I think he would be a great ST guy. And, there is nothing wrong with being a ST specialist.

I'm afraid PT won't get signed. I hope he does, and if anyone ever deserved a chance, it's him. Hopefully, he'll end up like a Randel El or Ronald Curry type guy.

When AD puts up sick numbers at OU's pro days and the combine, they will forget his injuries and move him up a few spots

Comparing Paul Thompson to Randel -El is hilarious...Thompson's agility leaves much to be desired.

Obviously AD is a high first rounder.

My best guess otherwise:

Ah You...3rd or 4th round though his stock probably went up after the all-star game the other day.

Rufus ... 4th or 5th round
Thibodeaux, Thompson and Birdine 6th or 7th round
Messner, Z Latimer ....have a shot at being drafted, more likely post draft FA's
J Carter Very unlikely to be drafted but probably gets a shot as a FA

Other than AD, by normal standards not a big OU draft. Of course the team was loaded with underclassmen. I think we only had about 10-11 seniors to start with.

Um, I wasn't "comparing" PT to Randel El, I was saying that it would be great if he ended up like Randel EL. He's a good kid and it would be nice if he had some success.

That might not be all bad, at least another stud college RB from the state of OK wont go to the Lions..........

Carr is servicable, they have good WR's all they need is the final ingredient, AD might just be that.

When Houston passed on Reggie Bush last year, I thought to myself it would be awesome if they drafted AD next year. Hopefully that still works out. I live in Big-D and am a Cowboys fan, but it would be great to be able to make the drive down to H-town to see AD play.

AD is a workout animal, and will show off big time at the combine. I'm not sure if any of the top 5 need a RB enough to draft, but somebody could trade up for him.

Zach and Rufus have a decent shot at the first day. They are both undersized for the NFL (it seems like the NFL likes all the LBs to be 6'2" to 6'4" these days), but they are tenacious competitors and should have good workouts.

Paul is tall (around 6'3" to 6'4"), strong (benched more than any other receiver on the team in the Spring), and fast (in the 4.4 range). He has good hands and is a leader. I think he impresses at the combine (remember, teams look at personality and intelligence as well as physical ability) and goes 3rd-5th rd. Maybe, just maybe, he goes late second. I like him, I think he's a good kid, I hope he goes as early as possible.

CJ is tall enough (but probably too light) to go early second day. Any of the DEs are really a long shot at anything before the 5th or 6th round, though.

I doubt if any of our other seniors get drafted.

Rufus is the second or third outside linebacker taken. He's not undersized for WLB.

Zach is undersized for MLB and too slow for OLB.

Paul has the speed, just doesn't have the burst off the line that he'll need to be a NFL WR.

CJ lacks great speed and technique but is productive. Birdine lacks production but has a great motor.
