They might be replacing the old buildings. They level several McDonald's up here recently to replace them with Brand new outlets as part of an ongoing corporate initiative.

not due to the ice storm believe it or not. I actually noticed it being gone last weekend, they were tearing it down when I drove by.

I don't know, but they better hurry up and finish building BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse (http://www.bjsbrewhouse.com/) on the old Don Pablo's location so I can eat there.

Talk about an upgrade.

If they are tearing it down in order to build a new one, they only have something like 90 days total to get the demo done and a new one open for business.

What the hell? I live in Oklahoma for 25 years and they get all the good places when I leave. BJ's are awesome (I am talking about the resteraunt, but the other ones are good too!:D ) They have several of them down here.

My top 5 burgers in Norman come from (in no particular order):

Sooner Dairy Lunch
Boomerang
Crossroads (in the student union)
Red Horse Grill
Braums/Sonic

I hear Charleston's has a great burger, but I just can't talk myself into getting a burger when I'm there.

I don't know how good the food at BJ's is under normal circumstances. I ate there at about midnight on New Year's Eve in Phoenix and hadn't eaten anything in about 12 hrs so I was really hungry. The pizza I ate hit the spot and the beer was tasty.

Now the whorn lovin Dallas lunch crew can eat there on gameday to make you know who quit harassing them.

When I first saw the title of the thread, it reminded me of a funny incident that happened to me at that McDonald's. A few years ago, when the McDonald's in the area had OU and OSU snowmen Christmas ornaments, I went by to pick up an OU one for myself. I was also needing a gag gift for a Christmas party, so I thought I would get an OSU one as well. When I went to the counter to ask for one of each, they said that they didn't have any OSU ornaments. Since I still needed a dirty Santa gift, I said that I would just take two OU ornaments instead. For some reason, they decided just to give me the two OU ornaments for free.

I forgot about Service Station. I remember liking their burger last time I had it, but that was a while ago. It's hard for me to not get their Grand Prix when I go there...it's one of my 3 favorite sandwiches in Norman, right up there with the Green Turkey from BisonWitches and the club at McAlister's with the cranberry.

Eh, the food is not so good. The beer is good, especially if you get it to go in a growler. Puke's Pilsner is the best. They never ever seem to have the cask conditioned brew they are supposed to have. The have a hand pump and all (to draw from the cask conditioned said adult beverage), but it is never used...Liars!!!

They're doing the same thing to the McD's in Mustang.

When I worked in England, we supplied AC units to the new McD's. They were all pre-fab and were put up in 30-40 days. A couple of them were done inside of 3 weeks, so 90 days shouldn't be that big of deal for them.

Is there a way to file an injunction to ensure that a new McD's is NOT built?
