Froz- do you guys have overhead power lines up there? They seem to be the culprits. I know Norman no longer allows lines to go in overhead.

There's some still left over, but every time they dig up a road they bury the power lines. For example, there's some overheads right out back of my house. The power companies are pretty good about keeping the trees clear of the wires, though.

Last week there was a big hubbub that a transmission line from Municipal Light and Power to Matanuska Energy Association got treed and ML&P refused to switch the power to the alternate line until MEA did a visual inspection on the line. At 10 below in a blizzard. Anyhow, it left about 7,500 Eagle River residents without power for about 10 hours I think.

The absolute worst is the Olympic Peninsula. Dad is constantly without power for days at a time whenever they have a storm.

You would think that PSO could fix this problem where it didn't happen; what the hell do they do will all those rate increases?
