any particular song titles? I'd like to Google his lyrics to read some of his songs. I've never heard of him and would like to check him out.

3 BJS
4 Randy

So I guess I choose Radney Foster.

Irish singer/songwriter, his biggest commercial success in the U.S. was the White Ladder album, which has some of my favorite songs. I love all his albums though. His earlier stuff sounds more like Irish pub music.

This site is pretty good: http://homepage.eircom.net/~drunken/lyrics.html (http://homepage.eircom.net/%7Edrunken/lyrics.html).

Is this gonna be the obscure, he's cool cause you've never heard of him, indie artist thread? Just wanna make sure so I won't come back.

;)

At least not till Dean shows up.

Randy Rogers and Willie Braun may be obscure to most on here but BJS and Radney Foster shouldn't be. You've heard their songs you just didn't know they were theirs. If you listen to country music that is.

Neil Young, Dolly Parton, and John Denver.

Oh...and I also still like the opening to a song that I composed when I was six. :-)

Bernie Taupin, Elton John's lyricist.

Neil Sedaka

James Taylor

Paul Anka (even wrote the theme to The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson)

And what about the esteemed songwriting tandem of John Lennon and Paul McCartney?
