You cannot target specific body areas for fat reduction. You can only reduce overall body fat - which in turn will make your lovehandles shrink.

Get some dumbbells. Stand up straight with a dumbbell in the offside hand of the oblique you're wanting to work. Move at the waist, laterally, so that the weight descends towards the floor, and to straighten yourself back up, you'll be using those obliques. Repeat for the other side.

Don't cheat and get your shoulder into it either. Put the hand that doesn't have a dumbbell in it across your chest or on your shoulder. You should feel it nowhere but right above your waist in the laterals. 4x12s or 4x15s, whichever bottoms it out. You want it burning at the end of each set, so play with the weight until you find what works.

That'll torch every love handle you got given enough time.

I didn't read anything in this thread beyond this b/c this is the correct answer. Diet and hard core cardio is the only way to reduce fat, thus losing love handles. For men, love handles are the last thing to go. It's our equivalent to womens thighs...

Oh, so what you're saying is you want somebody to blow smoke up your *** and tell you that you can lose your love handles by doing some type of lovehandle-targeting weight exercise.

Dude, I'm 6'2 180 pounds, play hoops 2-3 times a week, lift weights 2-3 times a week, just got some love handles on me that ain't goin' away. I think Fireman hooked me up with a good answer.
